Friday Night Frenzy tonight!

Be there and invite a friend!

Maximum 22 people. So please go directly to Safari Sam’s, if you can. And have your parents pick you up from there afterwards.

Video Scavenger Hunt is postponed – we’ll have a game day this saturday!

Coming home from camp jonah

Update: Its 5:00pm and we’re in troutdale. It will depend on Portland traffic.

————-

Hello parents,

We are loading everything and getting ready to leave camp Jonah. We hope to be away from here by 3pm. We want to be down to hood river before it starts to get dark (it’s about 25 miles away, but we’ll be slower since we have about 8 inches of snow. Our original goal was to get back to southwest around 5:30. Our actual arrival time will depend on the weather and traffic as we get into Portland. I will keep you posted.

We had a great weekend! You should be very proud of your kids! I can’t wait for them to share with you how they’ve grown.

Thanks, Jeff

Register for Camp Jonah!

It is definitely time to register for the Camp Jonah retreat! It starts in only 2 weeks! We’ll be going to Camp Jonah, in Trout Lake Washington, on January 13-16. That’s over Martin Luther King weekend (there’s no school on Monday, so we get to stay an extra day!). This retreat is by far the most important event for you to go to this school year!

It’s also important for you to turn in your registration forms NOW – because the cost goes up on January 2nd! So fill out the “Camp Jonah registration form” and the “Camp Jonah activities waiver” and turn them into Jeff this Sunday, along with your check.

You can use the forms that are in your Youth Group Newsletter. If you have lost them, you can print them out by clicking on the “Registration Forms” tab above… There is also a copy of the January Newsletter (front page only) with more info about the Camp Jonah retreat.

If you can’t get your forms to Jeff this Sunday (New Year’s Day), please mail them on Monday, January 2, and I’ll still let you go for the lower price. After that, you’ll have to pay the higher price.

So register, ask off from work and then GO and ENJOY! thanks, jeff

Youth Group “New Year’s Day Party!”

Hey everyone, we are going to have a special Youth Group “New Years Day party”, on Sunday January 1. It’ll be from 3-6pm at Tom and Judy Hinds’ house!

One of our breakfast teens, Sierra White, is wanting to get baptized that day. Lexie and I have been having Bible studies with her. She wants to do it on that day so she can have a “new year and a new me”.

As I was discussing this with Judy Hinds, she decided she would like to host a special party that day for ALL of the teens who were baptized in 2011. We’re also inviting their parents to join us. We think it’d be cool to honor those teens and also give their parents a chance to visit with the rest of the parents whose teens were baptized this year.

So the plan is for everyone meet at the Hinds house at 3:00pm. Their address is: 12350 SW 124th Ave, Tigard, OR.

Sierra will get bapized and then we’ll have the celebration. In addition to eating, visiting, singing and playing I also want us to break into our Small Groups for around 45 minutes. Tom and Judy are going to meet with any parents during that time, encouraging them and praying with them.

We should be done by 6:00pm. If the parents can’t stay for the whole thing, that’s okay; we’re encouraging them to come at the beginning as we honor their teens who were baptized this year.
